Mountains of the Sky

It’s wonderful to climb the liquid mountains of the sky. Behind me and before me is God and I have no fears. ~Helen Keller

They don’t make clouds like this in the northwest. These are thunderheads over Sioux Falls, South Dakota tonight, complete with constant lightning flashes sparking the center of the shimmering liquid mountains in the sky.

God behind, before, overhead. I am not ashamed to admit awesome fear of His mighty power.

  1. yes , the clouds of the midwest are awesome … as a child I use to lay on my back and watch the clouds with my friend Marrietta and we would make up stories as to what the angels were doing on each cloud … we had a perfect spot to lay on the slope of the yard it was just enough to give us the best view of the entire sky …. and wait for the ice cream truck to come down the street on a hot day …. you bring back good memories ….Hope you are enjoying your trip.Glad it is cooling off here now, as the farmers are harvesting the wheat behind us . a nice breeze here this morning . 2. Thank you for the stunning pictures. I grew up in Sioux Falls and the storms were something that I always enjoyed… Now that I live in Kansas, we have some pretty impressive storms and cloud displays also. Thanks for sharing!
